Good question! The plot developed as I wrote it. I had an initial idea about a post apocalyptic colony and livestock gone missing, and that a boy would be feeding his zombie mother. But that was it. Everything else came up as I wrote it.

Thank you! I chose this location based on a watchtower. I wanted it to be a lighthouse used as a watchtower. So it made sense to be on the coast.
